Galactic Challenge 2: Galactic War!
The Terran government has not taken the assault on the government military ship lightly. While a small matter in itself, the attack was all the government needed to set alight the built up tension and air of suspicion into a declaration of war upon the Centuri Conglomeration. The Nova League sees much to gain from a galaxy-wide conflict, and joins forces as mercenaries or assassins. Now all three major factions have lept into a furious struggle for control.
All members: Please read all guidelines carefully. This is a complex GC so you'll want to have a good understanding of how it works.
The Challenge:
Part 1:
Terran Empire and Centuri Conglomeration: Please set up a poll in you private forum as to which planets will be involved in the conflict. You may have up to 10 planets selected. Each planet submission will earn 5 Faction Points. The deadline for posting your planet list is May 31st, 2015.
Nova League: Decide your fate! You may choose either Category A) To ally yourselves with one faction or another and choose to aid them in the conquest/defense of a planet(Said faction may call on you or you may choose to submit an offense or defense build for a planet). See rules of part 2 for scoring. or Category B) to remain a lone wolf and simply pillage the spoils of war wherever you go. For this, you will make up to 2 builds showing your character fighting/looting/spying/espionage-ing. Each build is worth 4 points, minimum size is 16x16. The deadline for this Category is July 10th.
Part 2:
Terran Empire, Centuri Conglomeration, and Nova League members who have chosen Category A: Your goal is to capture and hold as many of the opposing faction's planets as you can by July 10th. Your faction, will, in its private thread, agree upon a planet to invade. Then they will announce the invasion in the Main Invasion Thread. Then, the invading builders will have 11 days to build as many builds as possible showing the invasion of the planet. Each build will be ranked on a 1-10 scale by the mod team. The faction whose planet is being invaded will have the same period, at the same time, to build as many builds showing the defense as possible. The same 1-10 scale will be used. At the end of the 11 days, the total scores will be added up and based on which team has the most points, the invasion will either be successful or repelled. Each successful invasion will be awarded 9 points, and each successful defense will be awarded 8 points. At the end of the GC, the faction who holds the most of the opposing team's planets will be awarded a 10-point bonus. All builds should be 16x16. Reasonable overhang is allowed. If you absolutely must go just a wee bit bigger to do this really cool idea for a MOC you had, shoot one of us a PM and we'll take it on a case-by-case basis.
Please read: When a faction chooses to stage an invasion, one of the Faction leaders should make a thread for the invasion of that planet. All builds for that battle should be posted there, and each one will be edited by a mod team member with its scoring.

Notes: (Important in bold) The Terran Empire receives a 5-point reduction in the Part 2 scoring due to the consequences of losing GC1. You may build in micro scale. To earn points for your faction, you must submit your entry here. We've already said this in the FAQ, but no clone brands. 3rd party accessories are permitted, though. Do we have a Flikr group? We should keep it open - I know I'm going to continue Kilvane's story.
