When we last left off with Oren and Lemna, their ship was downed by a group of bandits somewhere in a dangerous section of Theris badlands...
After dragging poor Lemna, unconscious and possibly grievously injured by the crash, Oren gets to work putting out the fires on the Cub.
Unfortunately, fires and an unconscious copilot are the least of Oren's concerns. He recovers some of the survival gear from the Cub and tries to see where the bandits will be coming from. With just one pistol, he's not sure how long he'll last but he has no intention of letting a bunch of bandits kill him or Lemna.
Finally, he spots... something. Is that an explosion? Now he can hear the far off sounds of blaster fire and shouts.
A battle rages near the enemy camp, a rescue party led by none other than Captain Mero. Oren can't believe his eyes as he watches Mero's squadron make short work of the bandits.
Oren, stunned to be alive, shakes hands with Mero who congratulates him for surviving and showing a lot of courage and quick thinking. One of his team administers some much-needed first aid to Lemna while the others stand guard in case more bandits are around. Oren quickly relates the events of the crash while Mero calls for extraction.
"How were you here so fast?" Oren asks.
"Classified. But I will say that it wasn't a coincidence." Mero answers.
