Please feel free to ask any questions here. Just please read through the topic first, as someone may have already answered your question. There is unexplored space in the Klegon Galaxy. With innumerable stat systems and planetoids it is unlikely the whole galaxy will ever be fully explored. As for the hyperdrive, only large ships, not starfighters can have a hyperdrive. However, your story about an expirimental craft, that went wrong is fine. You just won't be able to have any more of these craft. Again, please feel free to ask any questions here or to me personally via PM or FM. Will we be able to use hyperdrives in the future? Hyperdrives can be used; they just can NOT be on starfighters.

Is there any kind of stealth technology? Whether it's cloaking devices or specially shaped ships, is there any?

Is there any kind of stealth technology? Whether it's cloaking devices or specially shaped ships, is there any? I think there certainly could be, I would check with one of the admins first. Though this is set several hundred years in the future, and we are already working on cloaking tech, so my answer would be yes, but I would double check with one of the FOs.

Yes, definitely. Even today, some fighter jets have cloaking tech of a sort, being coated in a chemical that makes them not show up on scanners. A few hundred years in the future, that tech would probably be pretty fleshed out.

Maybe, but do remember that hyperdrives are physically impossible in the real world (At least right now). Also, guys, we are working on the first GC, and will have it ready to go when we have more members. So hop yo advertising, guys! Not sure why it matters if hyperdrives are currently considered physically impossible in the sense that we want our stories to be as unimpeded by time-lapse as possible (within reason of course... no teleportation seems fair!). This means that crossing unimaginable distances in reasonable amounts of time has to be possible for SfK to even work. Otherwise you guys might as well have set it in a single star system with a handful of planets and interplanetary travel times of a few days, weeks, months, etc. I really think you guys should just say "STAR WARS RULES" once and for all.

Yeah, what I meant to say is that be wise in choosing what kind of ship you have a hyperdrive on, because it's no technology to be taken for granted. Also, the other admins and I have mostly developed an ingenious(if I do say so myself ) system for official planet development mixed with crowd contribution. You guys will love it once it's revealed, that's all I can say for now.

Wait... I don't get it, can we get in the cage? If not how is SfK set inside it? Can we get out? No one knows how or why or when the Cage was formed, or why there are so many sentient species and so many habitable planets inside. You'll just have to wait and see.

Hello all, I'm new here and I've been reading through these threads for the past couple of days and I'm about an Inch away from diving in head first. I just need three Item's I plan to acquire within the next 48 hours and then I'm in. so I'll start off by declaring my allegiance...FOR THE EMPIRE! That Aside, Before giving myself over to this cause I have a few question/concerns I'd like to have addressed, if at all possible. Well I have a fair bit more than a few...but, I'll start with the four that are directly in front of my Immediate entry into the universe of Kelgon since they would concern this characters opening chapter/1st third to his story. First (Directed towards the Terran Empire/all)- I read the page about the official Imperial army and navy, but they left me with a major question in regards to their colors. What is the Opinion of the Empire on the Idea/use of 'Auxiliary' infantry? Not 'light' infantry, just not 'Regular' troops, because as it stands my mighty Imperial fist is rather puny. As I'd image most others in the group to be. As well when I heard of an 'Empire' faction my mind went directly to Auxiliary. So I made some and wrote up a short fluff bit about their use and markings. I figure this would give people more options for creating good Imperials to fight with/kill in massive numbers. If not its fine, but I just think it would help expand the empires forces, since having lost territory already (looking at you Centari) it would make sense that, in these desperate times, allowing less 'standard' troops would be a necessary evil. Second (directed towards all)- My next question ties neatly into the first, as noted above I along with working out the Auxiliary idea took some time to work out the basics of how they worked. that got me thinking what is the groups option on writing/applying fluff/lore to the story is? I.E. how much can one write/use in their story/what, if any, is the limit. Third (directed towards all, particularly the map maker)- I know the planet creation thread is locked however it does state that their can be exception,I'd very much like to be an exception. Aside from the Auxiliary this is my second major sticking point, since my characters intro/first chapter is becoming centered around this one star system. I of course can re-write/work within one system that already exists it would just require a solid answer to question two since their is plenty of fluff/lore I'd like,if possible,to use in my story. Fourth (Directed towards all, particularly the Terran Empire)- finally do we know of/are we human and thus know/have some exposure to earth history? in the came from earth/Terra sense, I know the Terran Empires capital planet is 'Terras' but that isn't specifically 'Earth' some clarification would be useful. This ties into naming units in my army. I would like my Character to be a member of the Empires 'Praetorian' Guard (Yeah I know...Real original...) I would like to know if that's okay or should I just not start spouting off names for individual groups. This could also be solved by giving an Idea of what cultures are found/emulated inside each faction. (Except nova who are a catch all.) Oh by the Empress...I rambled on hard their didn't I? whoops...Well better to have one long post than several short ones...right? TL DR; I put work and effort into that, you get back up there and read it! (unless your in the Nova league then it doesn't matter, your to busy be pirates to care.)

I put work and effort into that, you get back up there and read it! (unless your in the Nova league then it doesn't matter, your to busy be pirates to care.) Wow! Let's get started: First: When it says the Terrans favor "Heavy Infanty" for example, it just means their infantry tends to be heavy. That doesn't mean they don't have other kinds, so feel free to make whatever you want. Second: As for your story, you should feel free to tie it in with the official storyline. Just try not to do something that would alter the story for everyone else, for example, saying: "My guy drops a huge bomb on Cygnus that blows the planet up." Third: Our resident map-maker, crazycrownieguy, is currently working on the map, so we had to lock that thread to keep him from constantly having to change the map. Don't worry though, there will be opportunites for active members to invent new planets and systems in a little while. Fourth: We should have clarified this earlier, but SfK is not set in the Milky Way galaxy, and Terras is not Earth. Klegon is sort of a parrelell universe, that allows us to make whatever a better, more interesting universe to have SfK without worrying about the real world. I hope I answered some of your questions, and please feel free to ask me here if you have any more.

Also like broderickkohl just asked did these people who inhabited the cage come from earth? or else where? Does no one know? No, the technology avaidiable to the species within the Cage (which are mostly human) do not currently posses the technology to leave the Cage. Like I said to Broderick Kohl, SfK is set in a custom alternate universe so we can make the story more original and interesting. No one knows how so many types of sentient life exist in such a small area. Don't worry, this will tie into the story a lot later, and more will be revealed.
