NOTE: Crownie or another mod, please move this thread to the Info and FAQ Area. Thanks!
Hi there! Like with charting all the planets in the Cage, it's time for SfK to create a stable list of species. The main reasoning here is that we don't want the same Lego elements to be claimed by two different people for two different species. This will quickly become extremely confusing. So far, SfK has been extremely light on aliens and I imagine this is partially because of the issue with not knowing what is allowed. So, to encourage people to create and use aliens, and also to organize what exists or doesn't exist in the Cage at present... we'll make us a list!
Note: Humans don't need to appear on this list as we all know what humans are. Species that are too similar to humans will be disallowed due to the existence of the "Wanderer" species. We don't need too many species that look exactly alike.
Here's the rules:
1. First come, first serve. If you post an alien with a certain appearance, your versions wins over any competing versions with the same elements. For example, I was the first to use CHIMA lion/wolf/bear heads for the Therians, therefore there will be no other aliens in the Cage using these elements. That said, if you like a friend's version better than your own, feel free to opt out!
2. We will currently NOT be including any aliens with "olive green" heads/elements. This means specifically the Galaxy Squad bug aliens and other olive green alien heads such as orcs/goblins and similar Star Wars aliens like this. This is for lore-related reasons involving a future event.
3. Since I've already created TWO alien species, I won't be contributing to this list unless or until everybody who wants to make one has had a chance. This means everybody else gets TWO submissions before I'll suspend the list for a while until it can be determined whether Lego and SfK can support more additions. After the first round, we may be able to open up the list to more from everybody but we'll stick to TWO each for now.
4. Please use 3rd party Lego elements such as Brick Warriors lizard/cow heads if you want. No KREO or MEGABLOX of course.
5. The plutus proxima system is blacklisted as an origin point for any alien species, as those planets are dead and subject to upcoming lore of their own. Please do not create species that are from Plutus Proxima.
Here's how to post your alien species, using Therians and Sequai as an example.
Name: Therians
Origin: Theris in the Alpha Centuri System
Lego Elements: CHIMA lions, wolves, bears with otherwise human features and hair
Type: Mammalian
Affiliation: Centuri
Population: Abundant
Locality: Alpha Centuri with small groups and individuals living elsewhere
Info: Therians were in the process of achieving advanced technology when they first encountered the Terran Empire and were subsequently colonized. This put their population's advancement back by generations. Recently, they have been liberated by the Centuri and have become a robust member species in the Conglomeration, offering troops, weapons designs, and plenty of enthusiasm. Therians are known for a recessive genetic trait that manifests as extrasensory perception which gifts some individuals with exceptional predictive, and even precognitive, abilities.
Name: Sequai
Origin: Sequa in the Terran Empire
Lego Elements: CMF 13 Alien Trooper Head with otherwise humanoid features
Type: Amphibian
Affiliation: Varies
Population: Abundant
Locality: Everywhere
Info: The Sequai were a primitive species before the coming of the Terran Empire. Now their planet is host to TE fishing operations and vacation homes for its aristocrats. Many Sequai have left their home planet, venturing out into the stars anywhere that will have them. They are very social beings, but have become a diaspora with no cultural or species-based group commonality. This means that many Sequai are still loyal to the Empire, where others have joined up with the League or Centuri or simply try and make lives outside of the politics of the Cage.
Please let me know if there's any other information about SfK Species that we should include, or anything I'm forgetting. If you have questions about anything at all, PM me or post them here and we'll figure it out!
