Faction Challenge II: The Archives
"The Archives on Cygnus contain a complete history of the Centuri people. Our greatest achievements, our darkest hours, and, most importantly, our heritage. The knowledge here is the perhaps most important thing we can posses, and the most precious thing we can pass on to our children."
-Kaylen Nyx, Chief Archivist of the Cygnus Historical ArchivesPart 1:As you may have noticed, our front page is somewhat lacking in backstory and history for the Centuri. This one is simple, just write up a bit of lore about the CC's past. Just post your submission here in the thread or PM me with it to enter. Everyone who enters gets 2 personal points. Part 2:
The Conglomeration needs a leader! Build a fig, preferably one with fairly common parts so most everyone can build him/her(/it?), and write up a little backstory for the character. An additional 2 points for everyone who enters this, and the winner gets an another point for winning and their character becomes immortalized gets put up on the front page, as leader of the Centuri Conglomeration. Entries will be voted on via PM. So, you can get up to 5 points here, and all you have to do is write up some lore and build a fig! The deadline for Part 2 is on midnight, anywhere in the world, on Sunday, March 22nd. Let's get going Centuri! This is gonna be awesome! I am definitely gonna try for the win

Awesome and awesomer!
Just so we're clear, the faction leader should be a human yes?

Awesome and awesomer! Just so we're clear, the faction leader should be a human yes? Not necessarily. Hopefully the winning leader is easy for everyone to build, but if you think a Therian would work, go right ahead.

It doesn't make sense that it would be a Therian. They're new enough to the Conglomeration that at best, they might have a seat on whatever governing body. Which actually raises an interesting series of questions about how power is distributed in the CC.
It seems obvious that the TE is governed by an Emperor(ess) so it's autocratic. The Nova League might have a sort of council of prominent members that decide things democratically but are otherwise only loosely organized as one polity. For the CC, it should maybe be a democratic council ala the UN (each planet/species in the CC has a seat kind of thing) with a Chairperson/President/Chancellor/etc (which is our leader that we're building). Given that CC economics revolve around industry and mining, it could even be a Consortium style body where the membership is made up of Captains of Industry who govern planet-spanning mining/industrial operations.
That said, the model that we have seems to loosely follow the Age of Piracy. You have your autocratic, ageing Empire that is preyed on by pirates (the NL) who are beginning to establish their own system of government and a separate identity, even though they are at best a loose affiliation... then you have us, the CC, which is basically like the USA and other colonial powers that gained independence during or shortly after this era. If that's the case, it seems like the CC should basically function as a Republic.
Thoughts on this? Should I feel free to include this type of lore for the challenge, in hopes that it'll be adopted if I win? I just wanted to ask about it because I'm not entirely sure how ambitious I should be.

First off, any lore is much appreciated. I probably won't just use one person's, but combine several submissions into one cohesive lore. If you think a Therian doesn't make sense, that's fine, and human would probably be easier for more people to build anyway. As for the form of government, that is up to you lore writers. Do you guys want a democratic republic? A technocratic corporation-driven government? It's all up to you. I'm not going to throw out the whole of what you write just because the form of government you mentioned in it ends up not being the one we go with.

Submission for Part 1 and 2 of LC2
This is Chancellor Arden Mith, elected as leader of the Centuri Systems Council in the year 2757 (4 year term). He is pictured in relatively casual clothing, an affectation he is known for. Mith cultivates a persona based on approachability and stern, but affectionate fatherliness. He is rarely seen in formal wear, and even more rarely in military dress. Mith was a soldier in his former life, bearing extensive cybernetic prosthetics on the right side of his body due to injuries suffered in battle. The Centuri Systems Council (CSC) is the governing body of the Centuri Conglomeration. Originally the Centuri Movement was a bid for independence from the neo-feudal economic policies of the Terran Empire. The techno-industrialist leaders of the original Centuri planets simply grew tired of having the fruits of their labour pilfered by the corrupt and decadent aristocracy of the Empire. Nowadays, the Council is made up of individuals from multiple species and all walks of life in the culture of the Centuri, which is quickly becoming the melting pot of the Galaxy. Mith has long been known for his sense of political balance and practicality. He's into speaking plainly and practising common sense, but he also favours pluralist "one size fits all" solutions that lack nuance, especially for the special interests, problems, and needs of the Conglomeration's nonhuman members. This has opened him up to accusations of anthrocentrism, to which he does not respond. His election is credited to the recent need for a leader that will react to the mounting hostilities with the Nova League and Terran Empire with measure. He is not warlike, but not afraid of a fight. Likewise, he is not much of an economist or bureaucrat, but can appreciate the value of these concepts in the fabric of the civilization he now leads. His campaign to become Chancellor was based on a policy of increasing direct and indirect liberation efforts in support of dissident Terran Empire planets and peoples, while also emphasizing infrastructure, trade, cultural growth, and universal rights among the Centuri citizenry. His predecessors have too often swung to one side of the fence or the other. It is hoped that having someone right in the middle, more or less, will be better for the Conglomeration than less balanced ideologies.

In response to the lack of entries (Including ones from me, terribly sorry guys, been sick recently), I'm bumping the deadline to April 11th for the fig part, and extending the lore part indefinitely. Also, very nice job on the freebuild mccoyed. Liking the story so far.

Sfk Flynn Centurious by Sir Henry of Wickware, on Flickr After his older brother Chronos Centurious was assassinated, Flynn who was aid decamp to his brother, became leader of all centuri. At first, he had no interest in his duty, but his love for his brother and for his people, slowly went from being a duty to being a joy. After graduating from SMALL/s (Special,Military,Advanced,Landing and Leading school) He went on to serve with the 87th special ship to ship warfare squadron, earning the Westan bravery medal and was credited with taking 12 pirate ships during his service. He then went on to serve as Aid decamp for his brother until that fateful day when his brother was murdered by the Dark Soul mercenary brotherhood. Hope you enjoyed my little story for the Sfk Faction Challenge: The Achieves Part II Have a great day everyone! Go centuri!

Sfk free build: The death of a brother by Sir Henry of Wickware, on Flickr Flynn walked quickly on his way to the "Join Centuri rally" With him, his brother Chronos leader of all centuri, Head of security Coleman and medic Will Mars. "This way" Flynn said as he turned down a quiet street. Suddenly multiple shots rang out thru the dark, misty night. "EVERYBODY DOWN" said Coleman, firing shots back at the shooter. Flynn's heart raced as his brother fell to the ground, a shot right thru Chronos' abdomen. "NNNOOOOOO" he shouted as he ran to his brothers side. "Flynn" said Chronos, "This is the end for me, you must lead our people from now on" tear filled Flynn's already distraught face. "No! I j-just won't e-xc-ept th-is, y-you can't ju-st lea-ve m-me l-like this!" But before he could say more, his brothers eyes closed and his head grew heavy, he died in his arms. Sorry this is so grim, but I needed a pre story for the Sfk faction challenge. Hope y'all enjoyed!

My entry to the LC. Sorry for taking so long guys, but I'll get the poll up in the next couple of days to find out the winner.
Governor Cole Nydar by ~Jackson~, on Flickr Governor Cole Nydar was a war hero in the War of Centuri Independance. As the first Centuri Sky Marshal, he commanded the assault to free the Conglomerate and push the Nova League forces back out of Centuri space. Although he was in a position to take control of the entire Conglomeration's government, possessing the adoration and gratitude of the populace, he elected to simply be the governor of his home planet, Synthia, saying that the Centuri didn't need a soldier in command in a time of peace. But the times have changed. With tensions in the Cage growing by the day, Nydar has decided to run for the office of the High Chancellor of the Conglomeration. He is widely respected for his previous efforts to keep Centuri free and strong, and many analysts are already his election by the Council.
